Dr. Denisha McPherson is a highly accomplished Project Management Professional working for the State of New York with a deep-rooted passion for the intersection of Technology and Education. With an impressive background and extensive involvement in various organizations, Denisha is a force to be reckoned with within her field. As the President Emeritus of the NSBE NYC Professionals chapter and NSBE National Professional Executive Board Parliamentarian, Denisha demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to fostering growth and advancement in the engineering community. She is also the Inaugural President of the Sigma Beta Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. She actively contributes to the National Society of Black Engineers, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Project Management Institute, showcasing her dedication to empowering individuals and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups. Denisha’s journey in engineering began during her high school years at Brooklyn Technical High School, where she joined the NSBE. Since then, she has been an active member for an impressive 22 years, continuously inspiring and mentoring aspiring engineers. She became a Lifetime member of NSBE in 2023. Education has always been a cornerstone of Denisha’s life. She graduated from the esteemed Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. Building upon her strong foundation, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Management, further expanding her knowledge and expertise. Denisha earned her doctorate of Law & Policy at Northeastern University, in June of 2024. Her commitment to lifelong learning exemplifies her dedication to personal growth and intellectual development. Denisha’s contributions extend beyond the realm of engineering and education. Her outstanding achievements have garnered recognition, including the prestigious 2023 President’s Lifetime Volunteer Service Award and 2012 President’s Volunteer Service Award from Joe Biden and Barack Obama respectively. Additionally, her remarkable work as part of the technical team during the Sochi Winter Olympics and Rio Olympics led to her being honored with the National Academy of Television and Sciences Sports Emmy awards in 2015 and 2017. With her multifaceted background and unwavering dedication, Denisha McPherson continues to make a profound impact on her profession and the community at large.
